Happy 1st Father’s Day to @jeffrey__steven! I don’t talk about Jeff a lot on here but whenever people ask me how Jeff is with Addie, there’s no question that he’s amazing and really good with her. He was so good from Day 1. Born to be a dad, a true family man. I may be the nurturer but I think he’s the natural. To many more Father’s Days! #adelineairi #happyfathersday
I knew I would be a mom one day, but that day came unexpectedly and sooner than I thought. As a career driven girl, frankly, I wasn't emotionally or mentally prepared when I found out. I've now embraced the mom life as my daughter was born. ✨ But I struggle because motherhood is tough and a lot of times lonely. ✨ While most of my clients know me as their wedding makeup artist and hairstylist, organized, and maybe even put together. My friends might agree but sometimes I’m just a hot mess mom behind closed doors, lol. ✨ This is why I’m passionate about building a community of mom bosses that can empower each other in a real honest way while loving on your baby and business at the same time. ✨ Hey mamas! I’m Hikari, a mom, creative entrepreneur, blogger, and obsessed with coffee. Could you please introduce yourself below? I wanna get to know my supporters, it’d make my Friday!!
When you gotta squeeze in some work while your baby naps. This is a real scenario! We were at a cafe and Addie fell asleep in my arms. I took out my phone to jot down ideas and notes for my future projects. It didn’t last that long but it was a little chunk of time that I could switch into work and creative mode. I’ll take anything I get! Nowadays, this is how I work. This is my behind the scenes. Any other #mombosses work like this? Comment below to let me know I’m not the only one! 👇🏻
Addie is 8 months...wow! You know what that means? That means I’ve been a mom for 8 months (technically longer if you count pregnancy, ha!) What I would tell myself back then, knowing what I know now. 🙌🏻 Motherhood is hard. You’ll go through postpartum blues for months while your body recovers and that won’t be so easy. Things won’t go your way. At all. You’ll google every little thing and then wonder what the right thing to do is. Sometimes you’ll doubt if you’re fit for this. Sometimes you’ll question if you want to do this. Sometimes you’ll lose your shit. Oh you lose it. A lot. Sometimes you’ll wonder if you’re alone in how you feel. 🙌🏻 But let me tell you: You will heal. Both your mind and body. Things are hard, but at the end of the day, your baby laughs, cries, eats, poos, and pees. And that’s always a good thing. Talk to other moms and you’ll find out you’re not alone. It’s ok to question and doubt. You’ll eventually work through those feelings and get over it. Cause the baby will do something cute. Am I right moms? Don’t be so hard on yourself when you can’t get #allthethings done. Don’t be so hard on yourself when it seems impossible to balance your work and baby. There’s a season and time for everything. Everything will be fine. 🙌🏻 Happy 8 months to me and Addie 😁Dear mommas, don’t forget to celebrate yourself as your child grows up. What would you tell yourself back then prebaby?? Am I missing anything? Comment below! #adelineairi #8monthsold
And we’re back from a short trip to Japan! It was really exhausting traveling with Addie for the first time but it was so totally worth it!! And now I’m sad and wanna go back haha. International travel with a baby no joke though, so I thought I could give you guys some tips if you’re planning a trip to Japan in the future with your little one 😉 As I post more Japan photos, I’ll post tips at the same time! 🇯🇵 Today’s tip on traveling in Japan with a baby: Bring both your baby carrier and stroller. Baby carrier is probably the fastest and easiest way to get around Japan especially if you’re taking the train everywhere. The only thing to keep in mind, is the weather. It’s hot and humid during summer so it can get really hot and sweaty to be wearing your baby the whole time. Bring your stroller too if you baby likes to be in one (we brought ours but unfortunately Addie doesn’t like strollers right now 😞 so we didn’t end up using it much), but if your baby likes strollers it can come in handy if you plan to be out all day and you don’t want to wear your baby the whole time. I did a mix of baby wearing, just carrying, and stroller. I wished the stroller worked more, but baby wearing worked best for us this time. #travelwithababy #adelineairi
